King City couple are heading to Golf Hall of Fame by train

15.07.2010, 10:17

Carmen and Neil Klenz of King City plan to visit the Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Fla., but they don't want to miss seeing the rest of the country on the way. No blur at 30,000 feet for them.

They'd like to take the long and scenic route by train, at least one way. They'll use frequent-flier miles on Alaska Airlines to return.

Carmen, 74, and Neil, 76, plan to travel for seven to 10 days. They asked for rail price and itinerary information, also for suggestions for car rental and lodging in Florida.

Amtrak offered the following sample schedule and prices. Sue Azorr of River City Travel in Portland made recommendations and provided sample prices for car rental and accommodation in St. Augustine.
